School taught me the technical side of surveying and for more than 20 years in the field I have been learning the art from some of the best. As a result, I've had the opportunity to pass on this knowledge while leading crews throughout the Western U.S. on Federal, State, Private, and Public Lands. While many of the old school methods I’ve picked up will always be relevant digital surveying has changed the way we do things and now I’m learning internet communication and data sharing methods from some of our younger staff. Sometimes I feel that I’ve come full circle but I still get a charge when I can recover a monument thought to be lost or that helps solve complex boundary issues.
