Historic maps contain both fact and fantasy. Dale’s personal fascination with the contents of maps has led him on a surprising journey of fanciful curiosity and hardcore investigation. His professional career has been involved directly in GIS - from programming and management to teaching and consulting and more. His personal passions include history, and he has used GIS to help locate colonial roads through the Carolinas. He has spoken on this topic on NPR and the BBC.
