David,
That is something to be very proud of. She will be entering the profession on the next upswing in the economy while fewer individuals are entering our field and the average age of a licensed surveyor is ever increasing. I truly feel the next 5 years will be a time of opportunity.

My wife too, and daughter is so interested that she has started to work with us, and plans on going to Nicolet next fall :-) Daddy Proud...
Fortunately, my wife remains very interested in everything that I do, even after 21 years together. I have yet to fully demystify the profession of land surveying for her. I expect that I will never be able to do so, and look forward to at least 21 years more. :-)
Ah, yes my wife and kids just "love" it when I point out every survey that I've done or every monument that has been tied into as we drive past...Look at every lath on the side of the road, or flagging in a tree, or pink paint on the road, and, and, and...
Scott,
Maybe we should start a thread entitled "Things Surveyors Look At"? It drives my wife and son nutty as I glance at nearly every road crossing for a section corner and point out surveys I have done...
Are these called "passive monuments" because I keep passing them as I drive along the road? :-)
