Surverying for a new industrial area.Using GNSS-RTK, place 3, (or more depending on area and number of stations requiered), fixes and mark them well. Now find a suitable place to establish the station with good view of the area and start putting the gear together, here i am using a one-man setup with remote control. Establish the totalstation as a "free-station" using atleast 3 of those fixed points (2 is enough, but one extra for safety and control). Now survey heights, paths, ditces, paved/graveled areas and larger trees that could be of intrest to save for later. Having some hardware to clear sight-ways can also be handy when it comes to areas like the one in the picture.
