The Struve Geodetic Arc is a chain of survey triangulations that was set up by Friedrich Struve to measure Earth’s shape and size. It passes through the territory of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. In 2005, the Struve Geodetic Arc was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
