This is an important precise transit by Berger & Sons Boston circa 1896. This features a vertical limit with gradienter and powerful 30x inverting telescope. Comes with original case and celestial/solar attachments. This is an early geodetic instrument and was used to determine location and elevations of natural features, such as mountains, rivers etc. Comes in original wooden carry case. The leather strap has broken off but we have kept it wih the unit. Don't miss out on a great investment level transit.
