Hi Followers of the Wisconsin Land Surveyors Group! Just wanted to post a little update of this year's Annual Institute. This year we had 885 attendees, 650 of those were there for the whole 3 days. A wide variety of surveying topics were covered from Ethics, Legislation, the BLM, ALTA standards, Riparian rights, project estimating, platting, and many more topics. The Institute is not only the best value for your hard earned continuing education dollars, but one of the best opportunities to share in open discussion and camaraderie. It offers young student surveyors the opportunity to sit and talk with those who surveyed before there were total stations! If you haven't been to the Institute I would highly recommend it! Next year's Institute will be held January 23-25, 2013. I will be posting additional information on this years Institute on my LSU page. Cheers for now! Dave

The WSLS Survey Institute is an event that I look forward to every year. It is even more important now that continuing education is required by the Wisconsin Administrative Code. It was a pleasure to see old friends and to make new ones. Together we can elevate the profession of land surveying. And of course, as always united we stand - divided we fall.
