Why Aren't They Calling Me Back?

When you are searching for work, the first thing employers are bound to stumble upon is your virtual self, aka. your social identity online.  Of course, your Land Surveyors United profile can help you out tremendously when looking for a job in surveying, but what about your other profiles such as Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter? In other words, are you concerned about items you may have posted in the past which have little to nothing to do with your work life? Well, there is a new tool which can help you zero in on questionable content across your other social identities called Reppler and it may truly be worth your time to scan...

Reppler's interface is incredibly easy to use, even for guys like me who are less than genius when using a lot of tools on the web.  You simply sign in using facebook login and let Reppler Scan your profiles for content which may be keeping potential employers from calling you back.

A Big Tip To Ponder and Try
There are several tools out there which can help you spot troublesome content on your social profiles, however, the golden ratio can be found by updating your social profiles outside of LSU, through LSU status updates.  Simply channel your posts that you would want a potential employer to find through your profile status by connecting your other social identities to your profile here.  Using this method, you will not only be keeping your profile on LSU fresh, you'll be sending the traffic where you want it to go- back to your professional profile on Land Surveyors United.

If you happen to be searching for work in the surveying industry, just run a search for your own name.  I'd be willing to bet that your profile here on Land Surveyors United is at the top of the search results.  That should tell you something.  Namely, sharing your experiences in surveying through uploaded descriptive surveying photoshelpful videos and thoughtful discussions will ensure that the content that you WANT to be viewed by potential employers will.  Everyone wants to hire a professional with experience and with time, you can carve out quite a expert niche for yourself on this network.  Combine that with clean profiles elsewhere and I guarentee you'll start getting calls back.
