For land surveyors who are interested in historical imagery of Philadelphia and surrounding areas, i stumbled across a very helpful map tool which may interest you.
The Free Library of Philadelphia Map Viewer uses the Google Maps API to allow users to view and explore historical maps of the city.
The map viewer includes eight archive maps of Philadelphia dating back to 1843. You can overlay any of the maps on top of the Google Map interface by making a selection from the map sidebar. It is also possible to add a layer to the map that shows historical photographs from the Free Library collection.
Simply hover over a placemarker on the map and you will see a historic photo of that location.
They also have variety of other maps and views for you to use as well.
