Location-Based Notepad for Android Devices

Digital Field Notes Anyone?  SpotPad lets you create notes about any location

Ideal for the land surveyors on the move, SpotPad is a location-based (GPS) notepad app that lets you create simple text notes in your android smartphone, and tag them with your location. You can then call up those notes and pull up the location on a map anytime and from anywhere. Even better, you export the notes for sharing right here on Land Surveyors United!

Using Spotpad is super simple.  From the initial program screen, press your unit’s Menu buttton, and select the option for Add note; the screen above will appear. Then, simply type in the text you want to save. In order to tag the note with your current location, you need to press the Update Location button; SpotPad will not automatically add that data. But if you like, you can save a note without location data. When done, choose Save from the menu options, or just use the back button. Your GPS only fires up when you’re in note editing mode, and turns off when you save the note – a nice touch that saves on battery life.
