sPider - the Web Surveyor is the latest project of Ryan Brazeal and Kyla DuSomme of the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) Geomatics department. The project is designed to allow anyone anywhere the ability to operate a total station and virtually experience being a surveyor. The project is also focused on showcasing what surveying is all about, from an observational and measurement point of view. Two of the most common questions we get asked when out in the field using a total station are, "what do you see when you look through that, and what does that thing do?", this project should help answer these questions!
