Using the new Google Earth Engine which has just been released, you can see the new overlay for Water Mask in Central Africa.

The Landsat ETM+ archive was mined to produce a 30 meter water mask of areas of
persistent surface water from 2000 to 2010. Google Earth Engine was employed to examine all viable observations for identifying water.

These maps, created by our launch partners and the Earth Engine team, demonstrate the extensive data archive and processing capabilities of the Earth Engine platform.
