Displaying Raw Data
Let's take a look at ways to display Raw Data with Traverse PC (link to Traverse PC Support Group) The Traverse View has two modes it can display data in: 1) Inverse Mode and 2) Raw Data Mode.
Inverse Mode
The default mode is Inverse Mode. This mode computes the inverses between coordinates, taking instrument and target heights into account and displays them in the appropriate columns. As you enter data, TPC stores the data, computes the point, then recomputes the inverses and displays them. If you adjust a traverse, the Traverse View displays the adjusted angles and distances.
You will use Inverse Mode most of the time.
Raw Data Mode
In raw data mode, the Traverse View displays only the data you have entered and only those columns which are included in the display sequence. This can include angles, distances, heights, coordinates, latitude and longitude, etc. Any data that was not entered is left blank. As a result, the Traverse View may contain many blank cells.
TPC displays the same raw data, regardless of whether or not the traverse has been adjusted.
