Specifying Exact Angles and Distances

Learn how to use AutoCAD's standard notation while drawing objects. You learn how to specify exact locations in your drawing using coordinates. You can input distances in metes and bounds by doing the following: Open the Drawing Units dialog box by typing units[enter]. In the Length - Type drop-down list (upper left), select Engineering. In the Angle - Type drop-down list (upper right), select Surveyor's Units. Click OK. Now you can enter distances and angles in a metes and bounds style. For example to enter a distance of 40 feet North 45 degrees 22 minutes East, enter @40[less-than-sign]N45d22'E. I hope this helps
