Steve currently is employed as a Land Surveyor He has fifteen years of experience in the land survey industry which includes field and office time. He received his Land Survey Intern Certificate from the State of Nevada on the 15 of May, 2003 and his Professional Land Surveying License from the State of Nevada on the 10th of July, 2008. Steve started his caving career in 1995 with the Southern Nevada Grotto of the National Speleological Society and has served as Chairman of this Grotto for 14 years and Vice-Chairman for one year. Currently Steve is a Fellow and Member of the National Speleological Society, Chairman of the Southern Nevada Grotto, and adjunct instructor for the Collage of Southern Nevada. Volunteer projects that he has lead included the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors Mountain Top Survey Project; Lehman Caves Survey and Cave Inventory Projects for Great Basin National Park; Southern Nevada Visitation & Environmental Study and Nevada State Cave Data Base Project for the Southern Nevada Grotto; Gating and managing Wounded Knee Cave for the Bureau of Land Management. Volunteer projects that he has help with included Tonopah Community Gardens Project; Pinnacle Cave Cleanup and the Soda Straw Cave Re-closure Projects for Spring Mountains National Forest Service; Danteā€™s Pit Cleanup Project for the State of Arizona; Desert Cave & Red Rock Cave Mapping Surveys for Desert Research Institute; Gypsum Cave Mapping & Record of Survey for Helen Morison, wife of Nevada State Congressman; Onyx Cave Mapping Survey for National Speleological Society Arizona Regional Association; Lehman Caves Trail Restoration Project for Great Basin National Park; Junior Speleological Society duties at three National Speleological Society Conventions. Steve believes that with the Southern Nevada Grottoā€™s presence in Nevada, the Cave & Karst Systems in this state have a better chance of being protected, studied, and cared for. He offers his extensive knowledge to the Southern Nevada Grotto and the communities of the State Of Nevada as a volunteer for this reason.
