After qualifying as a mining surveying I moved into land surveying and dimensional control in the oil concrete and jacket fabrication yards in Scotland, which extended into the offshore construction projects. After 21 years in this area of work I progressed into project management until now. With the state of the construction industry in Scotland (disaster) I find myself back working as a land/dimensional surveyor in the offshore business in Scotland which is undergoing a bit of a revival in the North Sea.
