I have been surveying since I was a young teenager helping my dad survey on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. I studied surveying in Anchorage, Alaska in 1972-1973 and began surveying soon after. I have worked for Land Surveying companies, construction companies and with the Teamsters Union. I have experience surveying subdivisions, highway, airports, marine facilities, pipelines and industrial facilities. I have also worked on Native allotments, hydrographic surveys, placer and hard rock mines, underground control and surface facility construction. I perform construction take-offs, and material quantity calculations. I am currently surveying for Southeast Earthmovers, Inc., of Sitka, Alaska with my son, Erin McLean.
