Thoughts
Congratulations on being a featured member of Land Surveyors United. Ā I see that we have ten (10) members in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), however, you are the only UAE member to be a part of the UAE group. Ā I am wondering what I have to do to encourage the United Arab Emirates members to be more united here at Land Surveyors United by participating in the UAE group. Ā Do you have any suggestions? Ā As you already know, joining this group is free and and everybody is free to share whatever suits them in this group, as it is the same in all of the almost 200 groups here. Ā I have noticed over time that some members feel insecure about sharing questions, ideas, or knowledge. Ā Perhaps an employer would frown on participating here? Ā I don't know. Ā What I do know is that nobody holds a secret to the profession of land surveying Ā which would jeopardize him in the face of his peers. Ā In fact, the more collaboration that takes place, perceived singularities at the wide end of this "funnel of knowledge" seem to disappear, and at the narrow end of the funnel comes out the trickle of that particular knowledge that is most Ā beneficial to us all. Ā That is what I call the common thread which unites all of us. Ā If it is understood that if we look at the inverted "funnel", that we are all informed by the common thread from which we came, rather than perceiving ourselves as separate and fragmented at the brim of the wide end of that knowledge, then it seems a simple solution that we do not belong to ourselves, alone, and that we are all a part of the same ultimate reality (or in this case profession), like it or not. A house divided against itself can not stand.
Okay, enough of my philosophical conjecture. Ā Is there a better way for UAE members to join the group and have some serious dialogue?
I am always here to help.
Peace,
