Minimum Starting Salary: $17.36 per hour

NATURE OF WORK:

Performs technical computer-aided drafting and design work preparing a variety of surveys, sketches, and design drawings for a variety of projects and City Departments. Drawings range from simple sketches to complex boundary and topographical surveys requiring critical thinking and evaluation in how to approach each application requiring drafting or design. An employee in this position is responsible for following all applicable rules, codes, and ordinances in performing daily tasks. This includes following departmental procedures for design specifications and required accuracies. Instructions are given orally and in writing and are general in nature. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed for neatness, accuracy, and conformances of desired work product and results desired. Must work directly with other employees to meet the requirements of each job and ensure timely completion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma and six years experience in engineering/survey drafting. Level III Certified Survey Technician certification from National Society of Professional Surveyors in good standing also required. Must have knowledge of the Florida Administrative Code Section 5J-17 and Florida Statutes Chapter 177. Applicant must have experience in AutoCAD 2009 or newer and/or Microstation V8XM or newer. AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2010 or newer preferred.
