Embedding content in a Google Sites website allows you to include external elements, such as videos, maps, calendars, and more, directly on your site. Assuming your Google Site is already open, follow these clear instructions to embed content:

Embedding Content:

  1. Access Your Google Site:

    • Go to the Google Sites website ( and log in with your Google account.

    • Open the Google Site where you want to embed content.

  2. Enter Edit Mode:

    • Look for the small pencil icon or the "Edit" button at the top right corner of the page. Click on it to enter edit mode. This will enable you to make changes to your site.

  3. Add a New Section or Navigate to an Existing Section:

    • To embed content, you need to add a new section or navigate to an existing section where you want the embedded element to appear.

  4. Click on the "+" Icon:

    • In the selected section, look for the "+" icon (Insert button) at the lower-right corner. Click on it, and a menu with different element options will appear.

  5. Choose the Embedded Element Type:

    • From the menu, select the type of element you want to embed. Google Sites offers various embedded elements, including:

    • Embed URL: Allows you to embed content from a website by pasting its URL.

    • Drive: Lets you embed files, folders, or documents from your Google Drive.

    • Calendar: Embeds a Google Calendar to display events and schedules.

    • Map: Embeds a Google Map to show locations and directions.

    • Video: Embeds videos from YouTube, Google Drive, or other video hosting platforms.

    • Chart: Embeds interactive charts or graphs using Google Sheets data.

    • Sheets, Docs, Slides: Embeds Google Sheets, Docs, or Slides presentations.

    • Forms: Embeds Google Forms for surveys, quizzes, and data collection.

    • Charts: Embeds charts using Google Charts.

  6. Configure the Embedded Element:

    • After choosing the type of embedded element, follow the on-screen instructions to configure it. This may involve pasting URLs, selecting files, or customizing settings.

  7. Adjust Element Position (Optional):

    • If needed, click and drag the embedded element to reposition it within the section.

  8. Save Changes:

    • Once you're done configuring the embedded element and are satisfied with its position, click the "Save" button at the top right corner to save your changes.

Additional Tips:

  • Some embedded elements may require additional permissions or settings to be configured. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the embedding process successfully.

  • Remember that embedded elements often come from external sources, and any changes or updates on the source may affect the appearance or functionality of the embedded content on your site.

By embedding different types of content, you can enhance the functionality and engagement of your Google Sites website, making it more informative and interactive for your visitors.
