Pricing used equipment

I've been asked to make an offer on some functional used surveying equipment.  I have tried to find a "blue book" of sorts for surveying equipment and haven't had any luck.  I have also searched the internet without any luck.  The equipment I am trying to find a (low/high) fair market value on is:1.)  Nikon Top Gun DTM-A20 LG  (total station) 2.)  Sokkisha SET4  (toatal station)3.)  Sokkia SDR33 Model 3300  (data collector)4.)  Nikon AE-7  (automatic level)5.) Hela-Flux Schonstedt Model…See More

Annoying zoom extents?

Posted on January 2, 2010 at 2:54pm 1 Comment

In AutoCAD 2000i LDD when double clicking the mouse too quickly the drawing does a zoom extents. For example I have a three-button mouse, the center button (the mouse wheel) being the culprit, it controls the zooming and panning. Well I will be flying around in the drawing, zoomed in to some degree and then it happens; zoom extents!

I think I found a fix to this problem by typing in at the command prompt: "viewres" and hit enter, you are then prompted with the question "Do you want fast… Read more →

I ran across something unusual the other day.

Posted on December 20, 2008 at 10:30pm 6 Comments

I'm by no means a computer geek so I will try to explain this the best I can. I was working on an AutoCAD drawing and had the drawing minimized so it was using half of the monitor's screen area. On the other half of the screen I was viewing a survey of record available online from the County Surveyor's office as a .tiff file which is made available by way of a Java application or platform (not sure of the correct terminology here). Well anyway I walked away from my computer for a while and when… Read more →

I don't know that I ever answered your question (January of all things), the problem with the point numbers was found and fixed . . . Line P027 needs to be STO J instead of J=P. The 35s calculator does not always evaluate the expression correctly, and probably won't be fixed in later models (similar to not getting the checksums to work). Ted
