The Willingness to Change

Posted on November 5, 2013 at 1:30pm 1 Comment

The willingness to change and be educated is paramount. Staying humble enough to remember your knowledge has been shared by another, helps with the willingness and humility to give it away to a worthy hand.

We have our Geoeye on you.

[updated July 16] Boeing has received the first on-orbit signals from the second of 12 GPS Block IIF satellites it is building for the U.S. Air Force. GPS IIF-2, renamed Space Vehicle Number 63 (SVN-63), is functioning normally and ready to begin on-orbit maneuvers and operational testing.

After two postponements, the second  GPS Block IIF satellite launched successfully from Cape Canaveral at 2:41 a.m. EDT on July 16. GPS signals from the spacecraft payload will be turned on for test…

Going Green is a reality!

Posted on July 18, 2011 at 8:11am 3 Comments

Teamed with multiple trade professionals for more than 8 months intricately our surveyor’s laid out the path to completion. Watching the woods being parted at the Brookhaven National Laboratory certainly was poignant.  However, opening the provision of expanse provided Green energy and lighting for more than 4,000 Long Island homes. I considered it a true historic moment.  A huge under taking, we utilized our Trimble robotic total stations, GNSS and conventional tools to perform…

Lots of construction, roads and remote airports. Not airports like you are used to. These are usually 1/2 mile strip of gravel with a atco trailer as the terminal. Then there is the Native Alotments (C-14s). You seem to be very knowledgalbe about GPS. I worked for a company called GPS Inc. here and what a joke. Oh they had a chopper, but 1992 Trimble equipment, if we had more than 12 satelites it would shut down. Did not work well in the trees. I have used the R8 with the Ranger, but never got to down load it and deal with the data transfer to AutoCadd. If I lived closer to Anchorage I would take a class, but its 60 miles of deadly dark icy highway at -25.

Yes, I get to see alot of cool stuff and people. We have a guest cabin on our property, it has running water and flush toilet. You and your family are welcome to come and visit. June or July are the best times, good salmon fishing and it doesn't get dark. Lots of work up here too.
