(This is not always the case, after a while the pipes are often filled with dirt.)It's a typical monument for this area: They often still set "stones" (even if these are now made of concrete instead of granite). Only in places where it would be impracticable to set such a monument, other markers are used. That's another difference to Hanover: There usually other monuments like pipes with plastic caps are used, as you don't have to dig a hole to place them but you can just drive them into the ground with a hammer.</div>boundary wall IIhttps://landsurveyorsunited.com/photo/cimg09972012-03-04T00:12:17.000Z2012-03-04T00:12:17.000ZTim K.https://landsurveyorsunited.com/surveyors/TimK<div><img src="https://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/1199002479?profile=RESIZE_400x&width=400"></div><div>Just 2 cm more and the wall would encroach on the street. ;-) (The cross on top of the stone marks the boundary.)</div>boundary wallhttps://landsurveyorsunited.com/photo/cimg09962012-03-04T00:12:14.000Z2012-03-04T00:12:14.000ZTim K.https://landsurveyorsunited.com/surveyors/TimK<div><img src="https://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/1199001399?profile=RESIZE_400x&width=400"></div><div>Three boundary stones incorporated in a wall.
