Land Surveyor

First time poster....Long time reader.  Just looking for information on a project I am working on.  What I have is an NGS SACS Point at an airport that was destroyed this past summer.  We have been hired to set the new NGS Point, complete all the paperwork and control the point.  My Main question is.....To control the point with GPS it looks like the only option is post-processing the data to compute a northing and easting.  Is this true?  With the availability of OPUS or even an RTK network is post processing the only data NGS will accept.

Of course all data needs to be QAQC'd and submitted to NGS.

I am not sure if you have access to OPUS Projects, but if you do this will probably give you the best results. I would definitely go with Post Processing through OPUS Projects. You can wind up setting some other good control in the area as well as updating some existing monuments. I have found that RTK Networks can be very... inaccurate at times. I have seen three surveyors shoot the same point across three days and using two different RTK Networks and come up with significant differences, not only with each other but with themselves as well.
