FORCED CENTERING TRAVERSE METHOD

Hi, I'm using forced centering method to traverse forย  control establishment on a large site, I've seen it done by other surveyors and they don't set up over or measure down to a point, they just set up and put targetย  height of 0m for there stations, shoot in there reflective targets as they go and close, but for my traverse I have put a point to set up over but aswell I've accpted 0m as my target heigtht, I didn't get to finish the traverse by the end of the day, next day I set up over the last point, and to set a heigth I measured some reflective targets from previous day (measured from over the same point) to get a height for my station and finished the traverse.

My questions

1) is it correct to not measure down to a point as you'll loose height accuracy when taping down.

2) How would I even run an adjustment on the height now that my starting station on the next day is at a different height to ending set up on previous day.

3) What is the correct method of a traverse when establishing control of a new large site?

ย

Any help appreciated, thank you
