forced centreing - Decisions Board - Land Surveyors United - Global Surveying Community2024-03-29T04:45:45Zhttps://landsurveyorsunited.com/forum/feed/tag/forced+centreingFORCED CENTERING TRAVERSE METHODhttps://landsurveyorsunited.com/forum/forced-centering-traverse-method2021-04-23T11:50:33.000Z2021-04-23T11:50:33.000Zkyle rosenthalhttps://landsurveyorsunited.com/surveyors/kylerosenthal<div><p>Hi, I'm using forced centering method to traverse for control establishment on a large site, I've seen it done by other surveyors and they don't set up over or measure down to a point, they just set up and put target height of 0m for there stations, shoot in there reflective targets as they go and close, but for my traverse I have put a point to set up over but aswell I've accpted 0m as my target heigtht, I didn't get to finish the traverse by the end of the day, next day I set up over the last point, and to set a heigth I measured some reflective targets from previous day (measured from over the same point) to get a height for my station and finished the traverse.</p><p>My questions</p><p>1) is it correct to not measure down to a point as you'll loose height accuracy when taping down.</p><p>2) How would I even run an adjustment on the height now that my starting station on the next day is at a different height to ending set up on previous day.</p><p>3) What is the correct method of a traverse when establishing control of a new large site?</p><p> </p><p>Any help appreciated, thank you</p></div>
