Hi Billy,
Thank you for your compliments. You are one of the most knowledgeable surveyors I have corresponded with yourself. It is disturbing how many surveyors, some of them dual registered as engineers, don't know what a grid factor is or that NGVD'29 is not mean sea level.
At 11:00am on March 30, 2016, David García Bodego said…

Thanks Billy.

I only want to know the difference between both issues: traverse and traverse line. It is not an issue of Spain, I have seen the same issue on India, Arabia area (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman...), Australia, South Africa, England. When people talk regarding traverse, it is refered to a traverse line (doesn´t matter if it is open, boxed... whatever). But I can´t understand what is a traverse in fact.

Are you meaning system vs procedure?

Hi Billy;

Yes that's a Honda 50 in the photo. Had it way back in the bush in Sierra Leone back in the 70's. They were a night-mere to control on washboard dirt road surface during the dry season. No shocks in front; and you couldn't get them going fast enough to skim over the washboards. I later acquired a 175 xc trail which was the largest in country at the time.

Tried to load a photo of me and another Texan from El Paso on our Honda trail bikes in Sierra Leone but wouldn't load up. That Texan, Eliot Shapleigh, later became a State Senator from El Paso.
