"I am not confusing putting stakes in the ground with surveying... there is a lot more to construction surveying than just simply putting stakes in the ground, and its funny you say that because most of the "Surveyors" today in the land…"

Did education requirements hurt our profession?

Hello, I'm a new member but I've been a surveyor for almost 22 years now, about 10 years ago the land surveying company I worked for went out of business when the market crash happened which forced me to find employment in the construction industry and not for a registered surveyor... "Well, there isn't anything you can do about it unless you are registered & run a business, other than refusing to accept employment for less than you think you are worth. If we don't get paid enough, you can't tell it by the fees…"

"I hate the idea of unions, because of their political power and corruption.   But a Land Surveyors Union may be what is needed to get the profession recognized and respected.  Perhaps, that should be a question asked here.... Is a…"

"I am not going to pretend there are no problems. There are always problems. Success depends on what you set as a goal. If I wanted to be an engineer, I would be an engineer, I have an engineering degree. I like being a surveyor better. No doubt the…"

"Jeffrey, Rest assured I know the laws. And, it’s a pain in the ass to drive stakes in 2,600 meters of water! I haven’t worked on terra firma in nearly 25 years. Thank God! I’d have starved to death years ago. I just saw a couple…"
