0.01ft or 0.01m? Employ Least Squares Analysis (Star*Net is a very powerful LSA product) in your data reduction work. It can be achieved for as long as your equipment standard deviation is within the required accuracy. Please don't forget the strength of your figures. Cheers.

hi william, maybe I not much of a help but will try. i worked before in a sewage treatment plant that accommodate a entire city. basically, the project deals with mechanical installation, piping lay-out, electrical installation, civil work coordination, etc. project tolerance are 2mm linear distance, 3mm horizontal alignment, 3mm @ 10m or 5mm accommolated error @ 50m vertical alignment, and 1second angular closure. instrument: 1205 series leica total station. can you elaborate the "0.01's" out? 0.01 angular second would be incredibly i dont know. come to the fact that as far as i know even the latest total stations have the angular margin of error of .05 second and @ minimum reading of 1 second. man you are very precise and accurate.

Hello all,   Just looking to touch base with some people doing layout. I am working on a hydro plant in P.A.  We are chasing .01's out here because of the crazy specs of the job.  We are using a Trimble s-6 with a mt1000. Wondering if anybody is doing anything somewhat similar.
