Where are you surveying?

Hello Guys,

I am currently using a trimble R8 reciever and want to connect an external battery, (car Battery) so that i can get longer static sessions and not have to go back to the base to restart it every few hours.. I am using and external radio that has a cable from the battery to the radio and to the reciever but it wont pull the power from the cable.. I have used them in the past the were set up to do this. I connected to the reciever with the config program and the power port says INTERNAL..It wont let me change it....Ā  Any help would be greatly appreciated.....:)

My father Skip knows all about this but I took a look in my manuals and found the Trimble R7 /R8 User Guide which may bring you some help until he can respond.
also attached the manual for you to download. hope it helps!
