Where are you surveying?

Leica MS-50

I am working on producing returns from scans and imagery from the MS-50. Is there a way I can bring the imagery into CAD, microsurvey or cyclone? I want to be able to coordinate and put point numbers on the imagery without having to doctor up photos manually in adobe.

Any assistance with making quality returns from the MS-50 would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello EdJolliffe,

I noticed that you are working with C3D, i believe autodesk recap could help. You may need to read about it to see how you go about it.

Oh & you need the free patch from Leica on line to import the .poe Sorry I left that step out. God Bless !
    • What is the patch called and does it get put on Civil3D?

Pick the vertices (points) you want & Export a .poe file from your point cloud file & that will give you "nodes" that are going to import in to autodesk civil 3D, then you can set points or create line work with those, since the have X,Y,Z

      • Hi Ted,

Thanks for your comments. I will give this a try. Could I possibly get your contact information? I would love to touch base with you if I have any other questions. I have sent you an associate request.

  • HI,

    Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  WHICH SOFTWARE YOU ARE USING?

    INFINITY OR MICROSURVEY

    • I am using Infinity to view and QC the work, however, we have Cyclone, Civil3D and Microsurvey that we are completing the final product return. I'm just not sure if the image taken from the MS-50 can be imported into any of these so that you can have as a background to the scan data. At this point you can create the points required for the return.
