Ed,

Your notice of International Land Surveyors Week reminds me that it would be a great accomplishment for LSU to be linked to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. They are considered by many to be the leading surveying organization in the world; they have branches in the UK, Ireland, Asean, North Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Oceania and South Asia. Their headquarters are at the corner of Great George St. and Little George St. on Parliament Square in London, where they have a great library, book store, meeting rooms, etc.

I visited there many years ago and was treated well. I was also surprised to find just a short distance from their building, on Parliament Square, a statue of Abraham Lincoln erected there in 1920...it is a wonderful statue and is one on ten on Parliament Square celebrating British and foreign statesman!!!
